The stirrings of our inner spiritual sensibilities are the result of the sounds released by the violin of our souls, as it listens to the echo of the sound emanating from the Divine realm.
- Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook

Class: Remembering Judaism as a Spiritual Practice

Through Torah text study and Rabbinic writings, students discover that spirituality and mysticism are a part of authentic Judaism. We explore what "spirituality" is in a Jewish context. We also look at the origin of the Hebrew words for soul and spirit by reading text from the Torah. We introduce the concepts of the Renewal of Judaism, Kabbalah, and Chasidism. And, we end the class with a meditation on the letter Aleph.
