The stirrings of our inner spiritual sensibilities are the result of the sounds released by the violin of our souls, as it listens to the echo of the sound emanating from the Divine realm.
- Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook
In this class we will talk about the identity we take on when we are born, and the importance of allowing our soul to shine through that role. We will discuss cheshbon hanefesh (self-assessment) as a means to attain conscious awareness. We will examine the stories of Abraham in his father's shop and Rachel leaving her father's house as metaphors for the difficulty of the unmasking process. We will also travel through the story of Jacob to see how his whole life was a process of learning to allow his spirit to emerge. We will conclude with a Sefirot meditation.
